What is Google AdSense?

On June 18, 2003, Google introduced AdSense and gained attention from bloggers and website owners. Publishing interactive media, text, images, videos, or any content as advertisements in your blog or webpage by google is known as AdSense. AdSense runs successfully creating revenue for Google as well as website and blog owners. After the success of Google AdSense, a beta test for cost per activation was introduced which was later discontinued in October 2008. In Q1 2014 Google AdSense revenue went up by 22% of total revenue. The ads from Google AdSense are targeted to the site content and audience based on geographical location and google factors. These advertisements are controlled and maintained by Google. Google places banners and responsive ads based on the device screen size. These ads generate revenue for blog and website owners based on Per Click or Impression basis. So, to Monetize your website you need time and dedication to bring more traffic. “Rome was not built on a day” so does the website traffic.

Cheat Sheet to bring traffic for Website and Blog to enroll under Google AdSense:

Now you know what Google AdSense is all about. Now you need to conclude how your website or blog is going to be. A website will always be related to your company's product. So, always publish quality content on the website for netizens and customers. Integrate keywords from google keyword planner and this helps the website to reach the potential website users. Use onsite integrations like Lsi Integration, Site Map Integration, Robot.txt integration for better indexing of your webpage. When it comes to offsite integrations, promote the website through social media platforms. Use review sites and brand reviewers to create reviews for your product and this attracts more viewers and customers. A website should follow the Organic SEO rules for better ranking and traffic.

A blog is entirely different from a website. You can choose any topic to start a blog, and a blog shouldn’t be a revolutionary topic but it should have a unique voice. You should always choose a topic that you enjoy. Writing something you don’t know will go out of the topic and this would reflect in your writing and would make the readers know. Once you decide the topic, find out the unanswered questions of netizens related to your topic in google and integrate the answers to those questions through your blog. The answers to the unanswered questions will bring more traffic to your blog. Before posting the blog Use Google Keyword Planner and see the keywords related to your topic. Integrate those keywords into your content and this would bring potential viewers and traffic to your blog.

Always go for a unique name for your website and blog. This creates an impression among viewers. After all, the unique name you choose would be the brand name and this creates an impression among people about you.

Insight about AdSense

Now you know how to bring traffic to your website and blog. Before you sign up for Google AdSense it’s good to have an insight depth about Google AdSense.

Will AdSense affect your Organic Ranking factor?

Google has officially confirmed that Google AdSense will not have an impact on Organic Website Ranking. AdSense does not have any role in SERP ranking. But people think that signing under Google AdSense will bring more traffic to your website, then sorry to disappoint you, it’s a wrong concept. Google AdSense is used only to display ads to the viewers of your site and Google AdSense has no role in bringing traffic to the website.

Now you know that AdSense doesn’t have a role in SERP. Then, is there any chance to reduce traffic to a website or blog because of the ads you display? Netizens are the king of your blog and website. Adding Ads would distract the viewers from content and lack interest from visiting the blog or website. This will reduce the traffic and might increase the bounce rate to your website. Advertisements never affect SEO but how the users see the advertisements are different and this may lead to a lower ranking in SEO.

This is a debate among experts and professionals whether AdSense affects Google Ranking. Google says AdSense never affects a site’s ranking. Google has given instructions and guidelines for site owners to follow.

Google’s words on AdSense.
Google’s Note on Ads.

AdSense always brings revenue to your website and Blog. If you are planning to enroll under AdSense then follow Google Guidelines. Never Bombard the website with ads. Use ads by focusing on customers without annoying them.

Sign up to Google AdSense Account:

If you wish to sign up under Google AdSense then you need a google account. If you don’t have a Google account then create one. Keep a note that Google reviews every detail you give for signing up for the application. Follow the instructions and register. Once you are in, Google will provide you with a code that you need to integrate into the HTML page under the body tag. This code will display the ad and your google dashboard will display the revenue. Always start the advertisements from “minimum”. Try to start with just one advertisement. Too many advertisements can affect your SERP ranking. Always check the bounce rate of the website whether advertisements are affecting the traffic.

There is always a difference between a blog and monetizing a blog. Get an understanding of AdSense and do wisely.

My Verdict on AdSense:

AdSense is not a ranking factor and it’s confirmed by Google.

The way AdSense is used can disappoint Netizens and this would reduce their interest in your website or blog which could affect your website traffic and lead to a lower ranking of the website. But That’s not true for all the Ads. There are ads that are useful to the netizens as well. Therefore, we can’t judge AdSense as a negative ranking factor.
